Lovelyz' s Candy Jelly Love

Hello everyone!

Well, remembered how I mentioned that I might do some posts on one or two k-Pop songs I like? Well, to be honest, there have been quite a lot that i want to mention but I have always never managed to come up with a satisfying commentary to upload so there are a lot of drafts rotting in my account here (hehehehehehehe~)

In any case, today I finally grilled myself to talk about Lovelyz's debut song, Candy Jelly Love, which I have been loving.

To be honest, this song was not something I was expecting. Having listened quite a lot to Infinite, who is also under Woollim Entertainment. I would have expected a strong debut from Lovelyz. Hence, Lovelyz's sweet high school girls-like concept was a stark contrast to my expectations.
To be honest I am not a huge fan of cute songs. I am more of a ballad pop type of person hence i did not love Candy Jelly Love at first play but strangely, I grew to love it. It has been a while since such refreshing sort of song has appeared in the kpop scene.

The melodic line is catchy and sweet, matching the equally sweet vocals of the members. The overall feel of the song is light and girly. There is also a hint of the 80syn feel to it (just like Infinite songs!!) , without making the song sound tacky, but instead, bringing it a very unique trendy sort of sound and vibe to it.

Too sweet for you

Cute concepts as such has been long forgotten for quite a while, especially the high school concept so it was a surprise to see it being used and that definitely caught my eyes when I first watched the mv.
The choreography of the piece is also very well done. It is subtly girly and sweet without looking too deliberate upon it.

I also listened to the other songs in the album (the LBUM IS CALLED "Girls' Invasion") since I was curious to hear all the vocals of the members. The album was generally filled with very light heartening songs. I was in quite a bad mood yesterday but felt happier instantaneously when I listened to it. The vocals of the members appears to be great however, I think Baby Soul's strong and powerful vocals appealed most to me (bias revealed hahahaha~~~). However, all the vocalists in the group sound great!

No doubt, I would probably listen to Lovelyz's future songs too since I have grown to like their music style(and I love their vocal).

Okay, I shall end my post here (Charlyn, you have done well typing all the way to the end *pats myself on the back*)

Hope you guys stay well till my next postttt~~ <3

Anyways, here's the link to the official Music Video of Candy Jelly Love if you have not watch it~
